Development Start - Asset creation


GDD is completed and development of the game started!

I have chosen the font and colour scheme I will use for the game. I have created concepts for my character and menu screens.

Using a sketching app and Adobe Photoshop, I created my main character. I designed it to match the sci-fi space-like theme. I also created the game art and edited it even further, using Adobe Lightroom. The game title was made in 3D text software and then the colour and design in Adobe Photoshop.

I wanted to make all the assets myself (background music excluded). They are all in the same matching theme. Using a mobile sketching map, I created the game background, the main character, saw, saw arm, spike, different versions of platforms, side walls, and scoreboard.

I settled on what controls my game will use but it was hard due to very limited controls I had. I also figured out my screen navigation and made a screen flow diagram. The testing plan has been made as well as a user survey that the player will get link to, in order to answer questions about the game. It will help me later to evaluate the game and determine if it complied with the brief.
